Auto Supply

An auto supply store is the place to go for most of your car’s needs. These stores include national chains such as Checker or Pep Boys; as well as the local corner store variety. These shops often swear that they have any part you could need. They back that by guaranteeing that if you want a part and they don’t have it, they will ship it in to you for free.

Another auto supply source is your aftermarket parts dealer. Also known as a junkyard, these shops can provide good as new parts for a car at a fraction of what it would cost from a dealership or even a chain store. After all, the engine on a car that was smashed in the rear end is still in great working condition, so why pay twice the price just for an engine out of a box?

While you can find almost anything you need from the two sources above, sometimes your only recourse for auto supply is your dealership. While things will always cost the most from a dealership, you can be assured that what you’re buying is the right part for your car. That is because dealerships specialize in the brand they sell, they work on those specific cars more than any other and their mechanics and sales people know them inside and out. So if you can’t find it anywhere else, or the price is not an issue, dealerships are the place to go.
