Auto Shops

An auto shop is the place to go if your car is not running so well. Maybe the engine light is on, or you hear a grinding noise when you break. Regardless of the mechanical issue involved, auto shops specialize in fixing your car and getting it back on the road again.

An auto shop differs from a body shop in one important regard. Body shops exist to repair damage to the body of your car, or to modify it. These modifications include things like spoilers (tail fins) a new coat of paint, airbrushing, or any other external modification that doesn’t include mechanical work. Auto shops on the other hand work on the engine, exhaust, suspension, tires, brakes, steering, cooling, heating, and electrical systems of your car. They can install new components or repair existing ones that aren’t performing to standard.

If you’re in the market for a mechanic it can be hard to tell when someone is trustworthy. Many auto shops are out to pull every penny possible from their customers. These shops will often take dishonest shortcuts with their work, such as billing you for work they never performed or installing and old part and charging you for a new one. This is why it’s important to have a mechanic you can trust, as they will not only be honest and up front about what may be wrong with your car, but they will make up for any mistakes they make while working on your car without hassle.
